Auslan

Over the past year, we have been carefully reviewing our Languages Other Than English (LOTE) program. We are excited to announce that Auslan (Australian Sign Language) will be introduced as our new LOTE offering, beginning in 2025, and we will utilise the Auslan Education Service – Auslan Teaching Program.

Auslan is the primary language of the Australian Deaf community and plays a significant role in promoting inclusivity and cultural awareness. Learning Auslan will provide our students with an opportunity to develop skills in communication, empathy, and understanding of diversity, while also being highly practical and meaningful.

We believe that introducing Auslan aligns with our school’s values of inclusion and lifelong learning, and we are excited about the positive impact this program will have on our students and school community.
