Once a fortnight each class has an opportunity to explore the world around us. Most activities are undertaken outdoors and are hands on. We have been looking at our impact on the world and things we can change to make it a better place for the future. We have looked at the problems our world currently faces with pollution and specifically the use of plastic. This has led to looking at decomposition and ways we can improve our school grounds.
Many children have enjoyed activities to improve the aesthetics of the school grounds including weeding, raking leaves and creating compost. Throughout the year we will be creating vegetable gardens and adding plants to our other gardens. The older children will be attempting to create bird boxes in an attempt to increase the native bird population in the school.
