From the Principal

Moana Production

Our students and staff have worked extremely hard to bring last week’s Moana performance to life. Having 657 tickets sold, 219 student participants and over 30 staff support the Production we see this as a huge community success, and we thank you for your ongoing support. Importantly, our students had a wonderful time learning how to perform and share their talents with you.

On behalf of the Yinnar Primary School community, I thank you, Ms Griffin, for the time, effort, patience, and support you have so generously given to our students, staff, and families. Your contribution has made a lasting impact, and we are truly grateful. I would also like to acknowledge and thank Mr Twomey, Miss Chloe, Miss Ainsworth and Mrs Cleaver. To our fantastic parent helpers; Roxanne, Krystal, Laura, Lauren and Tom. Also, thank you to the wonderful hair and make-up team: Miss Paula, Laura C, Christine, and Adele.

Finally, a big thank you to everyone in the audience for supporting the 2025 production. This evening has truly been a team effort, and we are so proud of what our community has achieved together.

Wheels Day

This week we held our annual Wheels Day, and what a terrific response we had from students! They enjoyed the chance to bring along their bikes and scooters, while also engaging in important discussions around safety, active living, and healthy lifestyles.

Parent-Teacher Discussions

Parent-Teacher discussions are happening this week. These are an excellent opportunity to share the wonderful progress students are making and how deeply engaged they are in their learning. I extend my thanks to our staff for their ongoing commitment and dedication to every child’s success.

Welcome Back Mrs. Hall

We are delighted to welcome back Mrs. Hall from her enjoyable Term 3 break. She is very much looking forward to reconnecting with our students, staff, and the wider community. A positive term and future ahead!

A Personal Thank You

As this term draws to a close, I would like to personally thank the Yinnar Primary School community for the opportunity to work as Acting Principal in Term 3. It has been an absolute privilege to lead such a vibrant and supportive school. I am fortunate to have been appointed as the substantive Principal at Tyers Primary School. While I am excited for this new chapter, I will always hold fantastic memories of Yinnar Primary School.

Final reminder

This Friday 19th is the term 3 school holiday break. We will be welcoming families for celebration at 2:10pm with a 2:30pm departure. We hope you have a safe and happy break.

I wish all students and families the very best for the rest of the year and beyond.

Moana School Production

On Thursday, the 11th of September, Yinnar Primary School students went to GPAC to perform their very own production of Moana Jr.

They all did an amazing job with the dancing, singing, and acting. Students and teachers worked tirelessly to perfect the routines, often giving up their own class time to practise.

The production wouldn't have come to life without the talented students of YPS, including Jess as Moana, Henry as Maui, Patrick as Hei Hei, Mikayla as Pua, Harry as Tamatoa, and Benna as Gramma Tala.

A special thanks goes to Mr. Twomey for making the canoe and props, and to Ms Griffin, who worked extra hard to get us to this stage. We would also like to thank Roxanne for the costumes, along with the other parents and teachers who helped bring it all together.
